How to Find Red Hot Niches
Written by alain on March 19, 2009
I’ll show you some of my favorite sites I go to, to explore niches. If you go to dmoz.org for example, you’ll find over 590,000 categories (markets/niches) which can help you to get those creative juices flowing.
Although these categories are very broad you can work your way down to find sub-categories or potential sub-niches within these categories.
Another great place to find niches is to go to Amazon. If you go over to the books tab and then the magazines + newspaper you’ll find a lot of potential niches

If you look at the categories section on the left it should already give you some ideas. You can then go to the best seller section of each category

If there is a magazine for it, there is a market for it. The more magazines you see the bigger the market normally.
If any of these categories can support a lot of magazines, then you know there are probably a lot of advertisers involved. And people won’t spend money on advertising if they’re not making money.
Every single one of these magazines represents a market or a niche!
Other sites I use to help me with niche research include:
1.) ClickBank products with high gravity
2.) Google Trends
3.) Lycos Top 50
4.) Yahoo Buzz
5.) eBay Pulse
6.) Magazines.com
7.) Shopping.com Top Searches
8.) MSN
9.) Google’s Keyword Tool
10.) Wiki’s list of hobbies

Great post.
It’s all about being creative and really drilling down topics to their sub categories and beyond.
You have some great ideas and examples here that a lot of affiliates can benefit from.
Thank you!
